Examine this policy thoroughly prior to reserving a yacht. Agreement to the terms of refunds is understood upon scheduling a yacht with CommonsAnchorPoint.

Standard Cancellation and Refund Schedule

More than 72 Hours Before Charter

100% Refund

Eligible for: Complete reimbursement excluding service charges

Processing Time: 5-7 business days

Processing Fee: €50 for credit card payments

Conditions: Must send written request via email or telephone

24-72 Hours Before Charter

50% Refund

Eligible for: Half of the entire cost of the charter

Processing Time: 7-10 business days

Processing Fee: €25 subtracted from the refund

Conditions: Legitimate reason needed; applies administrative costs

Less than 24 Hours Before Charter

No Refund

Eligible for: No reimbursement offered

Exception: Consideration for emergency situations possible

Alternative: Voucher for a later charter can be offered at the discretion of the management

Conditions: Documents required for emergency scenarios

Weather-Related Cancellations

Our Weather Guarantee

Prioritizing safety, if the captain, who is certified, judges the weather unsuitable for sailing, we present various options:

  • Full Refund: Issued if rescheduling isn’t an option
  • Reschedule: Your charter can be moved to the next open date without any extra charge
  • Charter Credit: A credit that remains valid for one year from your original reservation date

Weather Assessment Process

Weather evaluations are composed of:

  • Checking wind patterns and speed
  • Evaluating sea conditions including wave heights
  • Forecast for visibility and rain
  • Regulatory bodies' advisories and warnings
  • Safety estimations made by the professional captain

Decision Timeline: Determinations on weather cancellations are made at least 4 hours before the planned departure.

Medical Emergency Refunds

Emergency Circumstances

Specified situations that may be eligible for a special refund due to medical emergencies are as follows:

  • Sudden sickness or accident that requires hospital care
  • Passing of a close relative
  • Unanticipated military service or recall
  • Legal obligation to attend court or jury duty
  • Significant natural events disrupting travel

Documentation Requirements

Required proof for processing refund requests due to emergencies include:

  • Doctor’s notice or hospital report
  • Death certificate when applicable
  • Official military deployment papers
  • Legal notices such as court summons
  • Travel warnings or state of emergency declarations

Processing: Refunds deemed urgent are handled within 3-5 business days after the valid document evaluation.

Operational Cancellations

Mechanical Issues

In the event the assigned boat has insurmountable technical problems:

  • Alternative Vessel: An attempt to provide a similar boat will be made
  • Full Refund: Issued if no comparable vessel is available
  • Partial Refund: Applicable if the alternative vessel has a different price
  • Compensation: Additional recompense considered for the inconvenience

Crew Unavailability

If an authorized crew is not available in unusual circumstances:

  • Efforts will be made to arrange substitute crew
  • Complete refund if the charter can't go ahead
  • Option to reschedule at no extra fee

Payment Method

Refunds are returned using the same means as the initial payment:

  • Credit Cards: 5-7 business days
  • Bank Transfers: 7-10 business days
  • Cash/Cheque: 3-5 business days

€25 fee for all bank transfer refund transactions

Surcharge may apply for international refunds

Charter Credits

When Credits Are Offered

Under particular situations, charter credits may be offered instead of a refund:

  • For late cancellations within a 24-hour window
  • For cancellations related to weather
  • For voluntary changes in booking
  • For unexpected operational disruptions

Credit Terms

  • Validity: One year from date of issue
  • Transferability: Credits cannot be passed on to others
  • Value: Corresponds to the full value of the charter minus processing fees
  • Usage: Applicable towards any available yacht booking
  • Expiration: No prolongation past one year

Partial Service Refunds

Service Interruptions

If your yacht experiences disruptions or requires early termination under our control:

  • Partially used services are refunded proportionally
  • Issuance of equal worth credit for future yacht services
  • Offer of complimentary services or upgrades

Guest-Related Interruptions

If the yacht needs to return early due to guest behavior or security concerns:

  • No reimbursement for the unused portion
  • Outstanding payment is still payable in full
  • Guest may face additional costs

Dispute Resolution

In case of disagreement with the outcome of a refund, options are:

  • Ask for an evaluation by our management team
  • Supplement with extra proof or documents
  • Engage with customer protection authorities
  • Consider legal options according to governing laws

How to Request a Refund

Your application should include the following points:

  • Confirmation number from your booking
  • Scheduled date and time of the charter
  • Cancellation reason
  • Any relevant backup documents (if appropriate)
  • Desired method for the refund

Step 3: Review and Processing

We will confirm the receipt of your request within 24 hours, assess it based on our policy, make a decision in 48 hours, and complete any approved reimbursement within the specified periods.

Important Notes

  • All applications for refunds should be made in a written form
  • Reimbursement is handled in € irrespective of the initial currency used for payment
  • Purchasing travel insurance is highly advised
  • These terms may be updated with a notice period of 30 days
  • Refunds can be subject to taxes and regulations in force
